Martin has spent over 20 years working at the intersection of global supply chains and circular economy. He holds an M.Eng. in Supply Chain Management from MIT and combines a Certified Internal Auditor background with Project Management Professional (PMP) discipline.
Where most compliance conversations stay at the policy level, Martin works at the operational one: translating PPWR requirements into practical data processes that hold up in the real world. That is what this session was built around.
FAQs We Answered During the Session
You are not required to proactively share the full DoC. You must be able to confirm its existence to anyone in the supply chain who asks. If a national authority requests the full document, you are legally obligated to provide it, which is why keeping it retrievable and current matters more than keeping it under lock and key.
PPWR requires one DoC per packaging type, not per individual SKU. If the same packaging exists in multiple sizes with identical materials, a single DoC can cover all variants. That said, best practice is a 1:1 relationship between DoC and packaging. If one variant changes, you only update that specific document rather than revising a shared one across your whole portfolio.
Yes. If you import packaged goods into the EU, PPWR classifies you as the producer in that Member State. You carry the same obligations as a domestic manufacturer, including issuing a Declaration of Conformity and registering for EPR in every Member State you sell into.
